You should attend the Dental Assisting School with the Highest Employment Rate in all of the Central Texas/Capital Area! (Source Texas Workforce Commission). We are ranked in the top 3 for 12 week dental assisting programs in all of Texas!
Enjoy this glimpse of our brand new facility!
Our next session is February 3-May 19, 2018
We are a small but very well established dental assisting school. Dr. Gillespie started this school in 2007! Now, out of all of the similar dental assisting schools in Texas, Dental Genius is one of the top three in employment placement rates (93%)! The point is to get a job, correct?
The school is housed in a brand new, state of the art dental office in Liberty Hill (Liberty Hill Dental). Our students are able to learn in brand new labs, sterilization and operatories using brand new equipment and technologies. Our program still teaches students about older technologies and methods like x-rays before they were digital too. Our school is unique because our students get multiple opportunities to do chair side assistance on patients with dentists (not just dental assistants or hygienists) and it’s all within class time. So, you don’t have to spend hours interning or externing in an office for no pay to get direct experience. We take pride in the fact that we partner with Samaritan Health Ministries to provide affordable dental treatment to community residents who do not have health insurance. Our students are an integral part of this collaboration. We do this because we feel it is extremely important to share our skills and resources with our community. We LOVE to give back!!!
Dr. Gillespie, the owner of Dental Genius is VERY involved in every aspect of the school. Each instructor, including him, knows each of the students by name and makes it a point to find opportunities for students to work with as many REAL patients and other dentists, in different clinic and practice settings. He has been practicing dentistry for over 37 years! He loves his school and contributing to every student reaching their goals!
Valerie Zapien, the Director, has a Master’s degree in Education (with an emphasis on communication skills and human development) and owns Full Potential Consulting, specializing in marketing, public relations and social media. This makes her an excellent resource and ally for helping you land your dream job. Her goal is for EVERY student to achieve his or her goals and dreams. She is passionate about training and empowering you to do it for yourself! She will teach you skills that you can apply to every relationship you have in life! She LOVES her job!
Each of the instructors is a full-time dental employee in different roles, with different levels of experience. We do this in order to truly provide each student with an accurate perspective and knowledge base of each position. We enrich our curriculum by inviting guest speakers from varying specialties. We regularly have a front desk scheduling/insurance coordinator; experienced dental hygienist and an orthodontist help teach sections of our curriculum.

“What impressed me about Dental Genius Assisting School most was that the instructors fully supported my daughter through the entire process of getting a job in a dental office. Not only did she have the knowledge and clinical skills needed but she was also prepared for interviews. They helped her with her resume, cover letter, image, and interview answers. All of these factors increased her confidence which motivated her to apply and get hired before she even completed the program. Now she is working and loving her career!”
